This is one of my favorite quotes from the Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Here, he is referring to waking up from the dream that we all live in…becoming conscious of what we truly are while we’re alive. When you awake, you step back from the ego, the mind, the emotions, and realize that you are more than just your mind and your body. You are the watcher who observes the thoughts that your mind creates. You are more than your job, more than your accomplishments and more than your beliefs. All of those things fall away as you come to this realization. When you take off the mask, what’s left is you, pure you…the being of light who exists beyond time. The being of light who doesn’t worry about what happened in the past, or fret about the future. The being of light who doesn’t judge, for how can you judge when all you have is right here, right now? The connection we have to the divine is the pure essence of presence, of being aligned, centered and here…right now.
